In the 2nd of our weekly series we delve into the thoughts of learning and development leaders from across the community – this week we hear from Clare Haynes of Wildfire
In your opinion what is the biggest anxiety within the world of learning and development at the moment?
Putting learning to use
Who or what is informing your thinking around L&D?
People on Twitter, my L&D network, HR managers and clients.
What is the most exciting innovation on the horizon for learning?
Combining methods – e.g. maximising mobile but mixed with good old conversations
What “game changers” would you like to see and why?
Managers learning to help people learn as a fundamental skill requirement – the instigation and implementation of learning at work still boils down to manager interest or lack of. It’s too much down to luck.
What do you think the world of L&D will look like by 2020?
More options for people to get information how and when they want it – I hope more focus on shared experiences. More sophisticated but simple and meaningful tracking of learning effectiveness
What advice would you give your 21 year old self?
Think about what you want to learn – don’t wait to be directed.
