Meet Ashley Sinclair and Hannah Waddams, your expert facilitators from MAAS Marketing – an LPI accredited, award winning company with decades of experience in marketing for learning.

We can’t change our behaviour if we don’t change our mindset first. So this session is tailored to challenge deep-rooted beliefs in L&D and encourage attendees to start thinking differently:

  • Why does L&D need to think like a marketer?
  • What is a marketing mindset and how to adopt it
  • What skills a marketing for learning practitioner needs
  • Customer-centricity and deepening understanding of audiences

We often see L&D’s understanding of their audiences being very shallow, which results in their marketing and comms efforts misfiring and not resonating with audiences. This session is designed to show attendees how to build learner personas that are useful and practical.

  • What is a learner persona?
  • What is the purpose of a persona?
  • What does building a persona actually entail?
  • How to build a persona
  • Triggering emotions and the WIIFM (what’s in it for me)

This session introduces the techniques behind a modern and effective marketing strategy:

  • What is a marketing strategy?
  • Understanding the buyer’s journey in learning (AIDA and RACE models)
  • Understanding competition when marketing your learning
  • The importance of benchmarking

This session is designed to increase core tactical skills in L&D practitioners in the following areas:

  • Copywriting
  • Email marketing
  • Visual language and design
  • Storytelling

This session builds especially on session 4 (but as you can see all the sessions build on one another) and is very practical. It focuses on how to use marketing tools such as:

  • Copywriting tools
  • Design tools such as Canva
  • Data capture tools
  • User-generated content tools

The coup de grace. This session shows learners how all of the previous sessions work together to build out an effective learning campaign. It explores:

  • 6 critical steps in campaign planning
  • Campaign hooks
  • Planning and resourcing etc
  • How it all comes together to make marketing magic

Designed by MAAS Marketing (2022 winners of the LPI’s ‘Start Up Learning Provider of the Year’ award), this masterclass is a virtual learning course focused on introducing marketing thinking, strategies and tactics to L&D.

Anyone employed by an organisation in an internal learning and development role. So whether you’re a Head of L&D, a Learning Experience Designer, an Instructional Designer, or something else entirely, this course is for you.

Anyone working for a company that sells learning products and/or services of any kind.

The course will help to establish your foundational knowledge in marketing and is broken down into 6 key sessions:

  • How to adopt a marketing mindset
  • Marketing strategy fundamentals
  • Turning strategy into tactics
  • Learner personas
  • Essential tools and how to use them
  • How to build a learning campaign

On top of this, there will be homework, and asynchronous learning opportunities between sessions.

Whilst session timings will vary, each session will range from 90 – 120 minutes.

Yes! This masterclass is fully certified by the LPI. When you complete the course, you will receive a verified LPI digital badge that can be shared on social media and added to your collection. We use Credly as our badge provider.

No we will not be recording our live training sessions.

As with every learning experience, you’ll only get out what you put into this course. Whilst your structured learning with us with be around 90-120 mins per week, if you engage with the community, read our resources etc we’d suggest you commit at least three hours per week to learning whilst on enrolled on this course.

No it’s not. However should we have a situation where delegates from multiple continents are signed up, organisers will discuss openly with the cohort about how we best manage this.

Please rest assured that regardless of your location, you will attend live workshops with your peers.

Yes, you can. If you have at least 8 people who wish to attend, we can arrange a closed masterclass for your group that is outside the public schedule.
